Cameron Rudd was born in1973. He has worked in Berlin since 2000.
Il graduated the Byam Scool of Art of London in 1995.

ABOUT HIM

"We discovered this young artist is a genuine painter. He studied at the Byam Shaw School of Art in London. He passionately believes in painting and drawing and counters the contemporary notion that “painting is dead”.

Bacon, Hopper of course, Freud and also Peter Doig: his masters are great masters. Rudd’s style is reminiscent of the work emerging from the New Leipzig School.

He has drawn his inspiration from Berlin without gimmick or exaggeration; he has revealed the atmosphere of a global multicultural city we would all like to be acquainted with. We have seen him wandering through the streets at dusk, observing the shadows, watching the silhouettes in the dead of night. We have seen him compose eerie ballets with fountains, revealing previously un-noticed shades of blue and white. He is drawn to the confrontation between shadow and light.

He may choose to depict the city, the lakes around where we play or beautiful sexy girls, as in his series of work “Love found love lost.com” which suggests his notion of the pace of contemporary life where love is found and lost at the touch of a button. What we are attracted to is an ideal reality. Let him be the detached observer he is, and lead us into his silent observations and his boundless vistas... And if his world keeps haunting us, then we certainly may call it poetry."
